This benchmark of Medicare anesthesia reimbursement uses Medicare base units, Optum proprietary average billed times, and the current conversion factor for the locality you select. This data set gives you a benchmark of what you can expect for anesthesia payments or reimbursement for Medicare anesthesia services. We take the current average anesthesia times and multiply them by Medicare’s current anesthesia base unit and the conversion factor for the locality selected to give you an estimate of anesthesia reimbursement.

Data Elements: CPT® code, code description, anesthesia base unit, average time units, conversion factor, and average anesthesia fee.
